Tangem Wallet cryptocurrency wallet. Step-by-step guide to setting up the wallet in 2026

Getting started with the wallet setup

To set up Tangem Wallet, you need a set of cards or a ring. We recommend buying Tangem Wallet from the official website or from trusted distributors.

Once you have your Tangem cards, download the Tangem app from the official app stores:

This setup guide for Tangem Wallet is shown using a two-card set as an example:

  1. Tap Scan Tangem.
  2. Scan the first card via the NFC chip. Place your phone against the first card as shown in the photo.
  3. The card is used to generate keys, which you will need to back up later.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions during scanning.

First launch of the app and scanning the card

Setting up the wallet and backups in the interface:

  1. After card 1 has been scanned, tap Create Wallet.
  2. Scan the card and you will see the No backup devices window.
  3. Tap Add a card or ring and add the second card as the place to store your wallet backup (this is like an additional storage for the wallet keys).
  4. A warning will appear – tap Continue.

Security settings and setting a passcode

Set an app security code on your phone:

  1. Tap Create to create an access code for the app.
  2. Enter the passcode.
  3. Re-enter the passcode.
  4. Next, you will see a screen with a card and the Scan card button.

Final setup and checking the backup card

Confirming the cards added to Tangem Wallet:

  1. Scan card 1 first. Read the on-screen information carefully. Scanning takes 15 seconds. During this time you need to keep the card close to your phone’s NFC chip.
  2. After a successful scan, the Ready to Scan window will appear for the second card.
  3. Within 15 seconds, scan card 2.
  4. After a successful scan, the app will suggest enabling FaceID. Enable it or skip this step.

Finishing the wallet setup and customizing the interface

The initial wallet setup goes through the following stages:

  1. Tangem will prompt you to add wallets.
  2. Select USDT and add the TRON TRC20 network as shown in the screenshot.
  3. If you want to add other cryptocurrencies, choose them from the list or use the search bar.
  4. After configuring, tap Continue, then Continue to my wallet.

That completes the initial Tangem Wallet setup.
